| The Clear Lake / Galveston Bay area of Texas
has been reported as the third largest recreational boating
community in the nation, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary has a
large membership in the area.
Flotilla 63 plays a major role promoting
boating safety in the Clear Lake and Galveston Bay Area.
Our flotilla is very active in surface
operations assisting and protecting the boating public, and in
support of active duty Coast Guard activities. Our members
receive extensive training in the Boat Crew and Auxiliary
Specialty Course program, with member training classes being
held on a continuous basis. We also conduct boating safety
education classes for the public. We are able to
accomplish these goals by many volunteers having fun while
doing vital jobs. Fellowship is valued highly and many of
the year's activities such as picnics and boating events center
around members getting together to have a good time.
